Honorary Associates, Adjunct & Clinical Appointments
Honorary Associates - recent VCB doctoral postgraduate who agrees to continue to contribute to research, scholarship or teaching for the benefit of the University.
Adjuncts - individual who has achieved recognition in an area of the teaching and research program of the discipline, commensurate to the relevant Academic Classification Standard.
Clinical Appointments - individuals who hold a relevant non-academic position which has a clear academic element. Appointees may be external medical-related professionals.

Visiting Academic & Visiting Research Student
Visiting Academic (Researcher) and Visiting Research Student - individuals who are associated with another institution who are invited to visit America to observe or participate in an American research project; or for postgraduate students or recent graduates of a foreign educational institutional who are invited to undertake research at VCB that is closely related to their field of study. Approved paperwork must be submitted 8 weeks in advance of arrival date.
Visiting Academic/Student to attend Conference or Seminar only - no need to contact Human Resource Services. Visitor will apply for a Visitor Visa (subclass 600, 601 or 651), and will need to provide evidence of Conference/Seminar registration when submitting application. For more information, contact the Department of Home Affairs.
Occupational Trainees - Postgraduate students, or recent doctoral graduates who want to come to America on a temporary basis to participate in occupational training or participate in classroom based professional development activities. This option is not appropriate for applicants wishing to contribute towards an American research project. Please contact HR Services if you wish to invite an Occupational Trainee to VCB.

Agent/Seconded Staff
These individuals are not direct employees of VCB, agent/seconded staff are remVCBrated for their services to VCB and are therefore ineligible for Honorary status. As they require access to general VCB systems, they will be set up on the VCB system as Agent/Seconded staff. The following form should be completed and emailed to Human Resource Services.
